1. It's a sin to kill a mockingbird and, symbolically, it represents how pure innocence is damaged and destroyed. Sometimes, society misunderstoods the innocence and view them as bad without justification.
2. Atticus isn't proud of his shooting skills because he feels he has an "unfair advantage over most living things."(Harper Lee, 130) He shows his just ways in life by showing respect to all living things, Atticus uses logic to resort to his decisions and actions.
3. When Atticus says Mrs. Dubose's actions didn't anger him because it only " shows how poor that person is, it doesn't hurt you." By this, I think Atticus means that Mrs.Dubose lacks common sense and judgement, and by talking about how poor that person is, he means how that individual has no mind and how being biased towards certain things isn't honorable or respectable, it lowers one's dignity. I agree with his moral, it's reasonable and just.

I believe the author includes this character in the scene to prove one of the many wrongs this world has, racism. This specific character seems to represent the doubt in a harmonious society between different races, how change won't happen and people all belong to their own place in society.(based on believes from during this time)
